Our speaker, Dr. Bahram Jalali, will break down how photonics, light-based technologies, are already shaping everyday systems - from data centers to sensing and imaging - and where they're headed next. No deep technical background required. If you're curious about how cutting-edge ideas move from the lab to the marketplace, this one's for you.

Dr. Bahram Jalali, is a globally recognized innovator at the intersection of science and real-world products. His work has led to companies acquired by Intel and BD Biosciences, and his breakthroughs have been featured in Scientific American and MIT Technology Review. He holds more than 70 U.S. patents and somehow still finds time to be an avid sailor.

Our Mission

To ensure the region's technical, scientific, and industrial workforce is connected and has the tools they need to be successful, MADIA provides educational programs in entrepreneurship, business finance and operations, and technology development and commercialization in settings which encourage networking and collaboration among members.

Who We Are

MADIA Tech Launch Inc. is a career, company, and industry incubator, established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and providing educational services to the region's technical, scientific, and industrial workforce. The region is centered within and surrounding the cities of Monrovia, Arcadia, Duarte, Irwindale, Azusa, and Glendora. Educational programs include, but are not limited to, entrepreneurship, business finance and operations, and technology development and commercialization
